there is no reason why i should be telling anyone about this except that i have a blog and can subject you to my whims

if you must know what i am doing right now

i am drunk
and sweaty
from the heat of
the outdoors and
parties
and i am listening to this

while trying to read this

it was a very bad idea.
a little overwhelming
to say the least.
in fact it all just makes me want to
bang my head against a hard surface
while wailing unintelligible intonations.

EEEHUIHUIHUIHUIHUIHUIHUI

(you said it ms. monk)

i'm going to go do something sensible now.

don't want no meat

for some reason lately,
i have had the meatloaf song
where he goes
well i would do anything for love
but i won't do that

in my head.

well, actually not the whole song
i've really only had the part
where he goes
well i would do anything for love
but i won't do that

in my head.

so i have no idea what
"that" is.

but my logical conclusion is that its something like this.

updates from shitty south texas

my dad just asks me
"what's a twitter?"
and i explain
(these conversations about technology always have a strange)
("birds and the bees" role reversal vibe)
(it was clear from our conversation that he still has)
(no idea what a blog is)
(or even what youtube is, for that matter)

then, just now, i hear his voice from the couch in the other room
melanie!
(my mother's name)
melanie!
i'm twittering!
i'm twittering!
i'm just letting you know that i'm watching the news

a moment passes

then

melanie!
melanie!
i'm twittering!
i'm thinking about going to the bathroom!
i'm twittering!

this guy is fucking awesome

i discovered him this morning while browsing through the "performance artists" category on wikipedia
and i was like...huh?
because i thought they were talking about this guy.
who is not that crazy.

BUT ANYWAY
how rad are this guy's signs?
i want to make some.
apparently he "picks up a new one at signographics every day"
yeah, man. fuck kinkos!

(ps. because it was hard to CHUS just one photo for this post)

(projs) \|/ (probs)

i woke up early thinking about what i was going to do next year
with a*space next year and whatnot
what with the booking for the first six weeks having fallen through.
having to wait on those projects, i thought about my
biweekly "bootleg video series" that i wanted to do.
so i started on a flyer
because i figured if it sat on my desktop
just glaring at me with those blank helvetica eyes
i would actually follow through with my plans
eventually

while i was making it, too, i realized that i am SO CLOSE to coming to a point where I feel really comfortable with my itunes library
for years, bobbing around forty gigs, but never being really happy
now we can just go round and round on random with rarely a skip
compared to the old days
(yay)

of course
all this will probably change
once i go back to sarah lawrence
and the ultimate self-consciousness sets in...

i am dreaming of the lake, the beach, the desert, the anywhere but here

i wish i had more unemployed friends
(less-hardworking friends)
(less-stick-up-the-ass friends)
(more trust fund friends)
so we could say fuck everything and take off
and maybe then my summer would be a little more like this
(minus the freaky black and white parts)

it's where i wanna beeeeeeeeee

which reminds me...

Learning about the Phenomena of Britain's "Poddington Peas" late last night reminded me of THIS

(which is much better)

I still haven't actually seen the whole movie. I was first introduced to it by a group of four people who are quite honestly probably in the top ten coolest people i know, but unfortunately i was in a state of smoked inebriation where ringo starr and harry nillson's voices soothed me to a point (hur hur hur, get it?) beyond return. yeah man, i slept through it.

it was also at this moment that i was also introduced to the amazingness (and insane levels of frustration associated with) ZOME! Which I had pretty much forgotten about until this moment.

I leave you with a zome model of the "great grand stellated 120 cell"

AMERICAN CULTURE WINS AGAIN!1!!!

Britain: Poddington Peas

vs.

America: California Raisins

okay, so maybe its a snap judgment. but seriously, peas?!?

creatures of horror

Equal extremes of pathos and revulsion are born from the fact that the Baby appears so intolerably real -- at least, it's a credible representation of how a foetus might appear if not allowed to develop beyond the pre-human stage. For this, the credit, as with much else, belongs to Lynch. Having designed and built the Baby, he then maximized its original impact by ensuring that no stills of it were released during the publicity stage.
